Child Safety Standards
Effective date: 19 October 2026
Howsit, operated by Howsit, has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Our standards
- Any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child — including images, videos, live streams, text, AI-generated or edited material, grooming, sextortion and trafficking — is forbidden on Howsit.
- Accounts that share it are banned permanently, and the content is removed.
- We report such content and accounts to the authorities as required under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, including through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, and we preserve evidence for investigation as the law requires.
How we find and stop it
- Public Reels, live streams, Vibes and profile photos are checked automatically before and while they are shown; content flagged as sexual content involving minors is blocked and the account is banned.
- Every post, Reel, live stream, profile, group and message can be reported in the app; child-safety reports are reviewed first, and acted on within 24 hours.
- People under 18 use Howsit only with a parent's or guardian's consent, and parents can restrict features with Parental Control.
How to report
- In the app: tap Report on the content or profile and choose the child-safety reason.
- By email: support@howsit.in with the subject "Child safety".
- To the police: cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930; in an emergency, call 112. You can also call Childline 1098.
